Conversion Analysis

The conversion analysis analyzes the host environment to assist in cleaning up the source code, JCL and files prior to doing the conversion. A variety of statistical reports can be generated to analyze any cross section of the conversion and isolate potential problem areas that go unnoticed during a manual conversion

The following lists some of the reports that are produced during the analysis:

Missing source code

Unexecuted source modules

Invalid dataset name

Unlabelled tape and disk files

Tape and disk files without ID's

File and database statistical data

Files and database tables used by interactive programs and how accessed

Files and Database tables by Jobstream and how accessed

Files and Database tables usage by system and how accessed

Batch Programs

The Converter can handle all versions of COBOL, Assembler, RPG, PL/1, DYL280, Easytrieve and many more languages and 4th generation languages. It can be readily tailored to translate and convert any language.

Job Control Language

The Converter can handle all structures of JCL, OCL or CL including the proper generation of disposition parameters.

Other capabilities of the Converter include the replacement of utility programs, the replacement of Database JCL and the generation of datasets.

Data File Transfer

The system generates JCL to transfer the files from the old environment to the new environment for testing and production. Data transfer is done at client's site.
